Coal mining in South Wales boomed during the second half of the Industrial Revolution. The first half was largely dominated by the iron industry, although coal was still used at this time. Between 1760 and 1914, iron and coal were the main industries in Wales. Both had an epic impact on Wales and the wider world.Once this has been confirmed, mining operations begin.
