Aug 20, 2010 · My browsers are often unable to resolve host names while this is happening, and download speeds slow to a crawl. I tried using OpenDNS servers along with a different Verizon DNS server (4.2.2.1 and 4.2.2.2). I also tried turning off all security features as per pre-reset. I reset my tcp/ip stack. All to no avail; this intermittent issue persists. Verizon appears to be having some sort of DNS issue. I noticed it wasn't resolving caching sites for YouTube thumbnails, but it also intermittently affected other websites where I couldn't connect. Resetting the router fixed the issue temporarily, but it would always return. Also releasing/renewing IPv6 address also fixed the problem temporarily.Alternatively, enter 192.168.1.1 into the URL address field.
