Raypak has discovered an issue with the high-limit lockout mode in version 1.07 software on their Raypak Digital Gas Pool Heaters. Heaters with version 1.07 software began shipping in Q4 2020. Update. The service notice below describes an issue relating to the high-limit lockout mode on products which began shipping in Q4 2020. Heaters have high-limit switches for temperature, pressure, and refrigerant (if a heat pump) that will open and shut off the heater in a low-flow scenario. In a heat pump, when the flow is low, the system will run high head pressure. However, in a gas heater, the exchanger can begin to cavitate and make a loud banging noise.
