In terms of plot it goes: Asylum > City > Origins > Knight.The idea that Joker would be afraid of death is strange. 1: Joker doesn't lick the cure off the floor. He scoops the liquid cure up with his hand and tries to lick it off his hand, instead of lapping it off the floor like a dog. 2: He still would need to trick Batman into thinking he failed.
