A lot has been happening in the world of Competitive 40k and some of the most interesting are centered around the terrain. We've seen recently two new approaches to the40k was was/is just too complex for the same framework. It'd need a pretty fundamental rebuild to be up to par. Thus: clean slate app. Carry on paying support and minimal dev on old sigmar app, don't renew with 40k app. Otherwise, the DP just becomes a liability. Lascannons and Missiles are useful for long range support, but Dev bodies are just... a bit too slow to get decent LoS, and you probably want MM for outflanking + Grav. You can use the starter armies in the bags and copy and paste the models to create groups.
