This is a permanent fix and disables the pinch detector. My connectors were so rusted that upon removal one snapped all the way to the connector stub. Most people clean the pinch detectors with sand paper if corroded. In your picture you took, it’s blurry, but the pinch detectors look pretty dirty. Make sure you clean those metal pieces really well and get any dust and litter out of there.
