A core curriculum of courses are taken by all first-year engineering students and make up a large portion of the engineering general education requirements. Foundational courses include calculus, chemistry, physics, programming, English, and other requirements. Students declare an engineering major at the end of the second semester.Students who do not have a Chemical Engineering B.S. degree when entering the Master's program are required to take prerequisite courses in Chemical and Petroleum engineering as well as Geology where applicable.
