Feb 13, 2016 · I have a second hand John Deere X575 (looks perfect) complete with a 47" Quick-Hitch Snowblower (OMM145749 J1) It looks in good shape, no obvious dings or dents, but when I was attempting to clean up a small snowfall, I discovered that the impeller would stop - i.e. no power to the impeller, although the auger was working just fine. Nov 29, 2014 · Ordered the replacement impeller, p/n AM109105 from Green Farm Parts and it arrived a few days ago. $252.86 including shipping. For some who may be interested, here's what it took to get the job done. Remove the snowblower from the quick hitch and roll it forward so the drive shaft is facing up.

I see that many people modify their snow blowers with rubber on the impeller paddles so that they can blow the slush a whole lot better. Thanks for any input on this subject. Nov 7, 2020 · I had the same problem with my 54-inch blower. I swapped the impeller for the steel one and it was like night and day. It's all about the shape of the blades on the impeller. Other than being made of plastic, the blades on the OEM impeller are completely flat. The blades on the steel impeller are curved on the ends like a scoop. First, as shown in other posts, a galvanized wire with a crushed eyelet will ensure the pin will not work its way out of the gearbox drive shaft. I used two bar clamps to lift the assembly into place. I've attached the two photos showing the retainer loop and bar clamp use. If you have the gearbox on the back you should be able to take the bolts out that hold it to the housing, then pull the gearbox off the shaft, which will allow you to pull the impeller out the front of the blower. They were $79.00 compared to $74.23 for a M135649 from greenfarmparts.com. The Heavy Hitch scraper bar includes the attaching bolts & nuts and they are stainless to boot.

I believe even the 44-inch garden tractor model now has poly impeller.
