Make sure the surfaces are clean and I roughed them up with some really coarse sandpaper so that the JB weld had something to bite. I have had them on for 6 months and so far so good. C. The early 4020 diesels came out of the factory with a goofy 24 volt positive ground system. It can be hard for the average person to work on. I have an early 4020 and I just put an overhaul kit in the brake valve. I put everything back together following my JD service manual. Then I bleed the brakes. Now the brakes are totally locked up. It's still a 24 volt system. I push the starter button and I hear the starter motor turning but the bendix does not engage the flywheel... or it is every so slightly engaging that it doesn't even sound like it's grinding.The super 4020 title was a very accurate on for them. 18.4x38 tires are probably the most common size for them. The power difference between them and a 4020 is very noticeable. Without a turbo a 4020 will usually smoke very heavy once you push it to around 110 hp. This did not cure the miss.disconnect all the lines & linkages.. remove the side cover on the pump, 2 flat head screws, drain.. 2 lines under the side cover, 1 is stationary & 1 rotates.. rotate engine until BOTH lines line-up & stop..
