Unfortunately, Ice and Snow conditions on the south end of Leech Lake have made all travel unsafe. Slush varies from 6”-24” throughout the area. Additionally, snow levels are 20”-30” deep. New cracks are frequently forming and flooding water onto the ice, probably due to the extreme weight of the snowpack. No travel is advised, of any kind. Ice Conditions continue to improve on our end of the lake. Our staked roads are seeing 11"-12" of ice on them, off the roads we are seeing 10.5"-.12" of ice, but there are cracks to be aware and look ahead for that have less than 4" of ice. Please use caution while venturing off road.
