No, I think you're absolutely right. I think Nier Automata is a very tragic story about love, and not just the romantic kind. I don't think 9S hates anything more than the people who built him. 2B reflects on this in the beginning - what starts as a bit of a meta joke about dying in the prologue is really a Nietzsche-esque philosophy, that our gods are cruel for putting us in a life like this.
