After installing a new router/modem combo unit, the default login and password for my router/modem no longer works. I recently installed a Motorola MG7700. Before I activated the unit with Xfinity, the default username "admin" and password "motorola" worked fine, and I could login to the unit's configuration page.What I'd try if I were using one of those if it didn't work, is change it in the phone app, then yank the power cord on the gateway. Wait 20 seconds to wipe out any volatile memory, then plug it back in. See if it will download it's configuration from Xfinity when it comes back up. Maybe it will, maybe it won't.I figured it out! In xFi, either through chrome or in xfinity app tap "pencil icon" to rename SSID's separately. ie: passwords2.4G. password5G. Go to: Connect> See Network> My Network> Pencil.
