I'd like to get the service manual for my 47 CJ2a. I tried to download your file but only got the first two pages. For the next hour I got the hour glass of death.Any fully web compliant (W3C) browser will work. Internet Explorer 5/6, and Netscape DO NOT work. For now, it is quite sparse, consisting of only a few sections, mostly occasioned by the need for an assembly procedure. Pretty sure it also requires pre-loading the diapghram. Both procedures are covered in the M38 TM. As is troubleshooting and measuring the pump for proper pressure and volume. I assume you have the TM. Just replaced the water pump & thermostat on my old CJ2. The coolant system was muddy/gunky with rust-colored debris & the thermostat in particular was badly corroded.

Hi. I am new to the forum but have owned a Jeep CJ2A for a long time. My original purchase is a 1947 but parts have been exchanged over the years. I bought a parts Jeep that had a Buick V-6 in it. I put what I thought were the best parts of each to make one Jeep sticking with the four banger engine. Actually I found a 1972 Willies Industrial ...The easiest way i have found to do this is to jack up a rear wheel and disconnect the brake cable and return spring. Then you can move the actuating lever by hand, make your adjustment and roll the tire to see if the brake is holding. Saves a lot of climbing in crawling under and yanking on the cane. 1947 CJ2A 90419.

So if your rig sits outside and condensation forms from temp change, you need to bleed the system more often. Dot 5 is more expensive, but not in my mind with $1200.00 a gallon show paint.
