Jun 23, 2011 · Unable to Charge. Just arrived home from another 42+ mile day in EV mode with 5 miles left on the battery. Plug in the 120v charger, all lights on charger go green. Plug in charger to Volt. Nothing. Light on top right of charger turns to blinking red. Light on top of dash flashes yellow once, then off. If the battery reads less than 12.0V you have a problem either with the battery or the charging system. Less than 11.5V indicates a completely discharged battery; less than 11.0 volts and you probably have a shorted out cell in the 12V battery. Most likely this. if you did leave the car on it would have turned off after 2 hours but that would have been enough to kill the 12 volt battery. If you can't jump it just replace it cuz that's cheaper than getting it towed and yada yada.
