Pc port has a framrate issue. Currently playing on Duckatation after trying out the Integral version. Can say that it is way better, it has working FMVs and effects like color filters and motion blur. Also the audio quality is top notch. Hey there, my first MGS was also 2, and even when is still in my opinion my favorite game of the franchise (gameplay and story) I would DEFINITELY ask you to wait and play MGS1 first. Story wise the game touches many themes that would make more sense if you play the first one. MG1 is also by far the easiest game to get used to it's mechanics.Metal Gear solid 1 is available on Playstation 1 2 and 3. PS4 is the first PlayStation where they stopped supporting PlayStation 1. PS2 and PS3 were backwards compatible with PS1 discs on every revision and PS3 also had PlayStation 1 games available for download including metal Gear solid one but all of that was thrown away at PS4 for some reason.I just played it on Win 8.1 and it works fine. Didn't even need compatibility mode. Only thing that didn't work is the briefing tapes. Just make sure you install the community patch that makes it work with newer OSs. ks salt Hey, I'm not an expert but here are my thoughts: MGS 1: Emulate with Duckstation or some equivalent emulator. You can play it on the PS3 collection or get it for PC via GOG. There seems to be issues with the PC port that are documented here.
