I have a 2017 CT6 Luxury with 3000 miles. Today, out of the clear blue, turned off the car and heard a very loud noise coming from engine compartment! It sounds like a cooling fan that is very noisy and continues to run for at least five minutes after shutting off vehicle. This has never happened before and it is Saturday night so dealer not open!We finished the ride home pulled in the driveway and I checked again, still cold! Also the fans were running full tilt engine off. I restarted it a couple of time no change. fans on and temp gauge didnt budge. As I was looking for the fan relay to pull it the fans shut off after about 10 minutes with the engine off. Also no CEL light.If the ac is cut on the high speed will come on but if you cut the air off the fan will stay on. If you crank the car with the ac off the fan will not be on. atleast that is the way a camaro is. The eng fan with the ac off will cut on for short periods of time to cool below a certain temp and then cut back off.

Below is the location of the fan relays in the battery junction block.Once you reset the codes the fans will operate normally. If the condition that caused the DTC reoccurs the fans will again run all the time. A better alternative is to be able to read and reset codes yourself. Regarding the comments about lifter problems, noise and V8 versus V4 mode; I installed a Range AFM disabler to keep the engine in V8 mode all the time. I also run one in my '16 Corvette 8 speed auto & my 2020 Cadillac CT6. The Range works perfectly in all 3 vehicles.
